General Meeting of the PU: Plans Approved, President Elected

The General Meeting of the Carpathian Taste PU took place on March 4 in Lviv.

The President of the Carpathian Taste PU, Pavlo Tüzes, delivered his welcome speech. He stated that the previous year was challenging for everyone but teamwork helped the Union keep up its work and grow. Pavlo Tüzes thanked all the producers and officially presented them with licenses. Carpathian Taste PU works in close contact with each food producer, who is a member of the community. In such a way, maximum safety and quality of the products are ensured.

Following a successful inspection, compliance check, and favorable decision of the Board, producers receive a license to use Taste of the Ukrainian Carpathians TM. The PU Chairman Pavlo Tüzes and Director Halyna Batyus discussed the PU’s activity plan together with the participants. A landmark moment of the meeting was the signing of a franchise agreement with the Board member Andriy Karvatskyi. This partner agreement will kick-off the operation of an online store, where everyone can buy Carpathian products from Taste of the Ukrainian Carpathians TM.

The launch of the online store is planned for March 10, 2021. Yuriy Ohlashennyi –  leading expert of the Swiss-Ukrainian programme Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine took the floor. He congratulated the PU members on good results on behalf of his Swiss colleagues and reported on the work with HACCP. He also told about the basic requirements of food legislation that would soon be added to the list of inspection requirements.

During the General Meeting, the participants discussed the launch of tasting rooms in Bukovel and Ivano-Frankivsk planned for spring 2021. The main event of the meeting was the secret vote. The count revealed that Pavo Tüzes (Pan Eco TM, Zakarpattia region) was once again elected the President. Mykhailo Stovpiuk from Stovpiuk Family Brand (Ivano-Frankivsk region) was voted the new Vice-President. The meeting also elected Board members – two persons from each region.
